IT'IS/Speag/ZMT Retreat in Melchsee-Frutt on Mastering Sales/Funding, Spotting Trends, Shaping the Future

Twenty IT'IS Foundation, SPEAG, and ZMT co-workers convened for two-day retreat, 01 – 02 February 2016, held at the Hotel Frutt Lodge & SPA, in Melchsee-Frutt, Canton Obwalden. The goal of the retreat was to learn how to spot trends, to improve the funding and the sales organization, and to establish measures for improvement.

The program of the retreat included book reviews ("Creativity Unlimited" by Micael Dahlen, “Anatomy of a Trend” by Henrik Vejlgaard, and “Minitrends: How Innovators & Entrepreneurs Discover & Profit From Business & Technology” by John H. Vanston), presentations on summaries of previous IT'IS/Speag/ZMT retreats (the Uetliberg session, "Little Bell Labs" and "Winning & Failing Strategies and Mindsets"), and on mechanisms of funding in the US, Europe and Switzerland. There were also several brainstorming and working sessions, in which the status of organization, its mindset, successes, and shortcomings were analyzed, with discussions of strategies to be implemented to overcome shortcomings and fortify strengths and on the future structure of the organization. As a result of these fruitful discussions, the participants could more clearly visualize how to shape the future of IT'IS, SPEAG, and ZMT and set about to design a plan with concrete measures to improve sales and funding, with measures to monitor the implementation of these actions.
