SPEAG and ZMT Workshop in South Korea on 27 October 2017

Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG) and ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT) are pleased to announce their annual hardware and software workshop, to be held in Seoul, South Korea, on 27 October 2017. Our in-house experts, together with our partners from Dymstec, will demonstrate SPEAG's and ZMT's latest innovations and product updates and provide information about standards trends and our roadmap for addressing emerging industry needs.

The one-day workshop will feature two parallel sessions, one targeting solutions for the mobile phone and telecommunications industries (track 1), the other focusing on the medical and life sciences industries (track 2).

In the sessions of track 1, we will demonstrate SPEAG’s novel hardware and software 5G probe systems, which allow compliance testing at distances as small as 2 mm from the device, with safety limits defined in terms of area averaged power density. Our 5G systems are designed to empower industry, test labs, and regulators to certify 5G transmitters with the highest possible accuracy and reliability. In addition, the latest updates of our existing products – DASY6, cSAR3D, TDS, DAK, and EM-Phantoms – will be presented. The session will continue with invited speakers from Samsung, who will specifically address the future of 5G applications and provide their views on industry needs. The session will be concluded with a live-demonstration of the latest release of SPEAG's SEMCAD X Matterhorn, featuring novel tools for the design and analysis of 5G and other wireless transmitters.

In the sessions of track 2, we will focus on the latest release of ZMT's simulation platform Sim4Life, including our new optimization engine and selected tools for the automated analysis of implants, specifically the IMAnalytics Module for comprehensive, and traceable evaluation of implantable medical devices. The latest ZMT validation hardware product updates will also be presented. Further, Prof. Niels Kuster of the IT’IS Foundation, together with Prof. Min Suk Chung of the Ajou University School of Medicine and Prof. Jin Seo Park of the Dongguk University School of Medicine, will deliver an overview and progress update of the “NEUROMAN” project [insert link]. The aim of NEUROMAN is to create the first human (male and female) and monkey computational phantoms that take anatomical and physiological phenomena into consideration for studying the interactions of neurons and electromagnetic fields. The session concludes with a number of invited speakers from industry and academia who will talk about a variety of life science applications, such as hyperthermia and focused ultrasound (FUS), as well as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) safety.

Registration is open and free of charge, but space is limited, and seats will be allocated on a “first come, first serve” basis. If you are interested in participating, please contact Dymstec to register by email.

We look forward to welcoming you to our workshop – we are sure you will find it informative and rewarding!
