AVALSET-3V1

Validation Antennas for IEC 62209-3 (AVALSET-3V1)

Description

AVALSET-3V1 is the set of antennas and accessories defined by IEC 62209-3 to validate the performance of any vector measurement-based system (e.g., array system). The manufacturers of these systems are obliged to validate the system if it is used for certification. AVALSET-3V1 also empowers regulators and users to independently verify the manufacturer-stated specifications. Validation warranties consistent results, independent of the device being measured.

Applications

Validation of the performance of any vector measurement-based system and verification of the uncertainty budget

Calibration

Each antenna comes with an ISO/IEC 17025 calibration certificate. Reference SAR values are provided in the calibration certificate for each location and distance for any phantom type: Flat (MSL, HSL), Left Head, Right Head

COMPONENTS

Dipole Antennas

Dipole Antennas

Inductively-coupled sources with induced electric fields predominantly parallel to the phantom surface. Symmetrical dipole with  λ/4 balun. Matched for use near flat phantoms filled with tissue simulating liquids.

Includes Verification Dipole Spacers (5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, 25 mm)

VPIFAs

Vertical PIFAs

Sources that are capacitively-coupled to the phantom so that the peak field in the phantom is predominantly perpendicular to the phantom surface

  • V-PIFA750V3: 750 MHz Vertical PIFA
  • V-PIFA835V3: 835 MHz Vertical PIFA
  • V-PIFA1950V3: 1950 MHz Vertical PIFA

Dual-Peak Centrally-Fed Planar Inverted F Antennas (CPIFAs)

Source with two SAR peaks at different magnitudes and locations. Tests the ability of the SAR measurement system to accurately measure both peaks

  • 2P-PIFA2450V1: 2450 MHz Dual-Peak Centrally-Fed PIFA

POWERSOURCE1

POWERSOURCE1

Stable and lightweight RF power source for convenient system verification and validation measurements. Generates CW signal at frequencies from 600 to 6000 MHz. Connects directly to antennas via coaxial connector.

VAHV1 - Verification Antenna Holder for cSAR3D

Articulated antenna holder with three joints, and spring-loaded end. It allows easy positioning of verification or validation antennas at a range of locations on the Flat, Left Head, or Right Head phantoms. The antenna can be moved in place with one hand while the locking mechanism is tightened with the other to hold it in place. Then the measurement is done hands-free.

Verification Dipole Spacers

Spacers for dipole antennas, providing four distances:

  • 5 mm
  • 10 mm
  • 15 mm
  • 25 mm (15 mm + 10 mm extension)
